About the Kenya Ski Federation

Founded by athletes, built for the future — the official governing body developing winter sports in Kenya and representing our nation on the world stage.

Our Foundation

The Kenya Ski Federation (KSF) was established in December 2024, answering a call from active Kenyan winter sports athletes and a growing diaspora for a structured national governing body. For years, Kenyans competed internationally despite limited resources, infrastructure, and support. The Federation exists to change that, providing leadership, coordination, and athlete support, so that talented young athletes have a pathway to discover, develop, and pursue winter sports, wherever they live. Under the leadership of President Philip Boit, a pioneer of Kenyan winter sports, the KSF is affiliated with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and works closely with the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K). With a growing network of athletes, coaches, clubs, and supporters across Kenya and the diaspora, the Federation is building on the legacy of those who first carried our flag onto the snow.

Programs & Development

We are building a sustainable winter sports ecosystem, connecting Kenyan athletes with the global winter sports community while laying strong foundations at home.

Athlete Development

International training camps, FIS development programs, and competitive pathways, built through partnerships with federations, clubs, and training centers in established winter sports nations.

Diaspora Engagement

A worldwide network of Kenyan winter sports athletes and professionals, sharing knowledge, mentoring young talent, and connecting clubs at home with the diaspora abroad.

Roller Ski Development

The foundation of cross-country skiing in Kenya. A nationwide program with development hubs in Eldoret, Nairobi, and Kitale, from grassroots participation to international competition.

Coaching Development

Coaching clinics, certification, and technical exchanges with international partners, building a sustainable local coaching structure for long-term athlete development.

Winter Sports Experience

Direct exposure to snow: training, camps, and competition abroad, opening cross-country, alpine, biathlon, and snowboarding pathways for athletes in Kenya and the diaspora.

Long-Term Vision

Our goal is a sustainable national system that identifies talent, develops athletes and coaches, strengthens international partnerships, and carries Kenya to the highest levels of winter sport, including future Olympic Winter Games.
